Reflection 2018: Achievements and Disappointments

A year full of surprises and stories,

in one deep sigh, all remain as memories.

What a year.

Reflecting back, all I can recall are good moments, unforgettable life lessons, and self growth which left me humbled and grateful. Alhamdulillah.

This year began with dedicated and motivated Fads with sets of goals and principles to follow to create a best version of myself. Consistent achievements flew over me; finished my on-the-job training, graduated in college, made the most of Ramadan, and got a job. These achievements made me proud of myself but it felt overwhelming which made me greedy for more and eventually put myself in a pressure cooker.

Greed and pressure got into me that led to disappointments and depression. In one snap, I fell and failed. This state of affair affected me and my family, which is heart wrecking. However through this, I learned more about myself and appreciate people who gave me genuine comfort and advice that I truly need. For that, I express my deep gratitude.

Complete realization of my state was a tough road. This circumstance made me appreciate more of my strength and courage to get back on my feet and start over again. I will end this year with a belief that you can rise up from anything. You are resilient and you can completely recreate yourself as long as you have the determination to start today and never look back.

Here I stand as a stronger person, a product of experiences in 2018. And I’m excited to learn more lessons, experience new chapter, and create wonderful memories in 2019.
