June Faves 2018

“Always sleep with a dream, and wake up with a purpose.”
-Anon

New month, new intentions, and new results. June was a slow month for me, to be honest. Ramadan left, Eid arrived, I processed lots of documents, and I’m finally looking for a job. Fingers crossed, I get hired soon. Just stay positive. So here are my favorite things in June.

Dream Life Series by Lavendaire

If you still haven’t check out Lavendaire, you’re missing out. She’s a total inspiration. So in June, she started this Dream Life Series which composed of videos, journal prompts, and motivation to live your Dream Life. She’s currently living her dream life and she’s generous enough to share her tips on how to achieve it.

I personally love the Dream Life Series because it helps me clarify my dreams and feel more determined to achieve them. Her tips are just on point. Although I’m still on the third episode, I can see changes on how my view on certain things have changed.

The Every Girl

I’ve discovered this site through Instagram because their feed is goals. Basically its manifesto is to guide and inspire all Every Girl whether she is searching for her dream job (dazz me) or a new city to call home; is saving for a down payment or a ticket to travel the world; is learning to cook or speak another language (dizz me).

I love reading inspiring articles especially because I really need it as of now, and will be needing it for sure in the future. I just need that kick when I’m feeling lazy and out of focus. This is the perfect site for me, as an Every Girl.

What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim (KDrama)

If you might not know, I love KDramas. However, I watch it less these days unlike how I used to in college, because ya girl tend to get a little more busy at the moment. I’ve been waiting for this KDrama for months, because I’m a huge fan of Park Min Young, she’s so pretty. Goodbye self-esteem.

This KDrama is a RomCom one, however there’s a thriller about their past which I find interesting, and I just love the balance of the two genres. Also, I’m inspired to be just like Secretary Kim, she’s a career girl and is so pretty. That’s just the goal! If you want to watch something light and funny, you have to check this drama out.

“What's Wrong With Secretary Kim revolves around the narcissistic Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family. He is very self absorbed and thinks highly of himself. Lee Young Joon has a capable and patient secretary in Kim Mi So who has remained by his side and worked diligently for 9 years without any romantic involvement. But Mi So decides to resign from her job, hilarious misunderstandings ensue.”

Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum

I’m a huge fan of horror movies, although I don’t look like I am because I’m such a honey. I’m that one little girl at the cinema who doesn’t scream while watching horror movies. Most of the time horror movies disappoint me because I barely get scared with horror movies. But this definitely is a game changer. For the first time in a long time, I covered my eyes while watching a horror movie. The plot was so good however the ending was unrealistic.

"In 1979, 42 patients at Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital killed themselves and the hospital director went missing. Rumors and strange stories about the now abandoned Gonjiam Mental Hospital abound. An internet broadcaster and 6 other people decide to enter the abandoned hospital to experience unbridled fear. They begin to stream live video from inside the hospital."

The first time heard about this movie, it already sounded familiar to me. Then I found out that the Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital has been called one of the most haunted places in South Korea and CNN has claimed it was one of the freakiest places in the world. Then, it makes the movie more interesting because the asylum is real.

Blackpink’s Square Up Album

I’m sure most of you have seen lot of people raving about the comeback of Blackpink. All I can say about their comeback is, they are phenomenal! No wonder they have huge amount of fan base, it’s because they deserve it. They are so talented and I love that in they empower girl power. We girls have a lot to say.

Their four new songs are bomb. I personally love Forever Young and Really, but I also love the rest of the songs. I just love the album itself. Also, can I just say that Jisoo improved so much in this comeback? She’s on fire.

Did you know that their single Ddu-du Ddu-du MV reached 33.3 million views on Youtube on its first 24 hours? If you haven’t watch the music video, now is the time.

I massively love minimal and simple aesthetic. This Instagram account features food and drinks by serving them in aesthetical way. It gives that cozy cafe aura. Somehow, I aspire to take shots like these too in the future. Izzo pretty! Give it a follow!
